”It's Europe's interest to have peace and safety in the Middle East”, minister Peter Szijjarto emphasised after discussing the Palestinian-Israeli peace process with Riyad al-Maliki.
In order to have a balanced and well-functioning cooperation between Europe and the Middle East, we must stop the violence and start the direct negotiations between Israel and Palestine, must establish the two-state solution, Hungarian minister of foreign affairs and trade Peter Szijjarto said after meeting his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad al-Maliki in Budapest. He emphasised that this can't happen if the international community leaves Palestine and Israel on their own. According to Szijjarto the international community must have a role in the negotiations, so Hungary supports any initiatives that can lead to the restart of the peace process. ”It's Europe's interest to have peace and safety in the Middle East”, he added.
Riyad al-Maliki said that there are plenty of possibilities to further develop the Hungarian-Palestinian relations.
