Just like last year, MVM Veszprem wasn't able to put VELUX EHF Champions League final in the bag, this time it lost to Vive Targi Kielce with 39:38 during penalties.
The match started great for the Hungarians, they were able to lead by even nine goals after the break, but then Kielce made an unbelievable comeback, writing a totally different story. The 60 minutes ended with thrilling 28:28. The extra-time also ended with equal point leading to penalties where Kielce could use its secret strength to win with only one goal with 39:38.
The Polish team has won the trophy for the first time to become the fifth country of origin to be added to the winners’ list after Spain, Germany, France and Slovenia.
