The Hungarian government spent HUF 100 million to renovate Tiszaigar Arboretum, an important tourist spot in the Eastern part of the country.
According to officials, the renovation, that suits needs of 21st century, helps Tiszaigar Arboretum to become a “hidden treasure of the county”. A new visitor center with big parking lot, renovated esplanades and new plates for every plant waits for the tourist season. New office and farm buildings will help the staff's work.
Tizsaigar Arboretum is 31 years old with over 400 species. The most valuable ones are the European yews, maidenhair trees, Colorado white-firs and Serbian spruce trees.
