The Austrian police forces continued their border control operation Sunday, causing lots of km long traffic on the M1 motorway.
Drivers had to deal with the bottleneck from the early morning, and the situation has just gotten worse and worse during the day. Around 10 AM traffic jam was four km long, and the Hungarian police was able to announce only during the evening hours that the bottleneck has started to disperse. Around 8 PM the traffic jam was about 6 km long.
The Austrian police once again did spot-checks at the border with Hungary, opening truck cargoes and looking for traffickers and illegal immigrants.
