Hungarian officials reacted to Jean-Claude Juncker's Monday interview saying the President of the European Commission is mistaken as the most important thing isn't solidarity at the moment, but security.
Mr Juncker talked to a German newspaper about the mandatory migrant quotas, saying that the system is based on solidarity and permits that the Mediterranean countries don't manage the „refugee drama” alone.
Chief Security Adviser to the Prime Minister Gyorgy Bakondi said that the referendum on migration quotas carries an important message for Europe. The vote is a democratic process with a political message. He added that Hungary employs new solutions to stop mass migration, for example, the fence on the southern border, law modifications and the presence of soldiers and policemen along the border.
