Record 44-percent Would Reelect Orbán

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán shouldn't be afraid of his contenders according to a recent poll.

According to a recent survey by the Nézőpont Institute support for Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is higher than for the other five opposition contenders combined. A record 44 percent of the voters would re-elect Mr. Orbán, while Gábor Vona of the right wing opposition Jobbik party would receive 11 percent, Bernadett Szél of the green-left LMP 8 percent, Ferenc Gyurcsány of the liberal-left DK 6 percent, socialist László Botka 5 percent and liberal Gábor Fodor 2 percent.

Nézőpont conducted its first survey about prime ministerial candidates in May 2015, when Mr. Orbán had 32 percent. The zenith for Mr. Vona was 13 percent in August 2015.
