In the past twenty-four hours 1,060 illegal migrants have attempted to enter Hungary, announced Gyorgy Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister Wednesday.
190 people succeeded in getting through the fence and Hungarian authorities prevented the other 870 people from doing so. Mt Bakondi added that the new border control system is expected to be efficient, since there could be a significant preventive effect if migrants see that it is not worth trying to cross the border illegally.
