The European Commission is partially responsible for the EU's current crisis, Viktor Orbán emphasised in a German conservative daily.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that the European Commission of causing the crisis that plagues the European Union and called on member states to take power back from Brussels. He noted that Brexit is one of the proofs of the commission’s failure. “Idealising the European plan” must come to an end, he said. The Prime Minister recalled the opening of borders to migrants as one of the reasons for the EU crisis.
Mr Orbán warned, the two most important European achievements are in danger: the common currency and the unified internal market. By closing its borders, Hungary helped to save the European model and the European lifestyle, the PM added.
