Sziget Festival ended with more than 490,000 visitors, although organizers hasn't published final figures yet.
The one week-long extravanza offered more than 1500 programs, featuring The Chemical Brothers, Rihanna, Muse, David Guetta, SIA, John Newman, Noel Gallagherʼs High Flying Birds, The Last Shadow Puppets and many more. The festival show is traditionally closed by a famous DJ, this year Hardwell End got the chance to entertain Sziget-lovers.
“The 490,000 we estimate is well over our expectations for 450,000-460,000 visitors. Week-long passes were sold out before the festival and day passes sold out on August 11, when Rihanna performed”, said Karoly Gerendai to MTI, suggesting 2016 numbers well exceed last yearʼs 441,000 visitors.
