Mercedes announced Friday to construct a new car manufacturing plant in Hungary that will create 2500 new vacancies.
“Mercedes is building a new plant next to its existing factory in Kecskemet. 150 thousand cars-a-year will be manufactured at the new plant, which is being built with an investment of 1 billion euros. The project will create 2500 new jobs and the Hungarian Government will be providing funding of HUF 12.9 bn”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto stated at his presser.
Mercedes-Benz’s Production and Supply Chain Director Markus Schäfer announced that the project will most likely to be completed by the end of the decade. He highlighted that the construction confirms the success of the current factory in Kecskemet that has made a major contribution to the global success of Mercedes and has manufactured over half a million cars.
