Laszlo Nemes traveled to Cannes, France this year as a jury member. The Grand Prize winner director was astonished when he was asked to be a Cannes jury member.
The jury met first Tuesday before the official opening of the 69th Cannes Film Festival, and since then they have been able to work perfectly together, as Mr Nemes said. This year director Arnaud Desplechin, actress Kirsten Dunst, actress and singer Vanessa Paradis, actor Donald Sutherland, director George Miller, film producer Katayoon Shahabi, actor Mads Mikkelsen and actress Valeria Golino shares the jury podium with last years' Grand Prize winner Laszlo Nemes.
It's been 30 years since the Cannes jury had a Hungarian member. So Mr Nemes is very proud to be able to participate in the jury work, however, he was absolutely astonished when he got the call.
“It seems everyone has a very strong opinion, so it will be interesting”, he said at the Red Carpet.
