According to the latest statement of the Central Statistical Office (KSH), Hungary's rolling average three-month jobless rate was 3.6 percent in October-December, unchanged from the previous three-month period and down from 3.8 percent a year earlier, Hungarian news agency MTI reports.

In absolute terms, there were 167,200 unemployed, 1,500 fewer than in the previous period and 8,000 fewer than a year earlier, MTI writes. Finance Minister Mihaly Varga told a press conference that KSH's figures show an increase of 73,000 employees in the private sector in the full year of 2018, which indicates further expansion potential.
