Around 500 migrants wanted to cross the Hungarian Southern border illegally during the weekend, reported the Hungarian National Police Headquarters.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the numbers of illegal migrants' apprehension were 167, 213 and 77 respectively. The majority of migrants claims to be Afghans, Syrians or Pakistanis, but some coma from North African, and even Haiti or Sri Lanka.
During the first weeks of the year, the number of illegal migrants crossing averaged around ten a day, then it has started to rise gradually. The trend peaked on Easter Monday, with 255 cases.
