If the quotareferendum will be successful, the best would be to make an amendment in the constitution in order to ban mandatory resettlement in Hungary, Miklos Szantho, director of the Center for Fundamental Rights (Alapjogokért Kozpont) told Magyar Hirlap.
The director of the Center for Fundamental Rights think tank, Miklos Szantho explained the legal aspects of the Hungarian referendum against the mandatory refugee quota in an interview for Magyar Hirlap. He said that it's legally possible for the leftist-liberal opposition to campaign against attending the referendum, but from a democratic point of view it's grotesque and absurd.
Mr Szantho emphasised that immigration policy is the competence of the member states, but Brussels wants to centralise immigration policy. He reminded that one of the official plans of the European Commission states that migration can be a solution to demographic and employment problems, so it's not about humanitarian issues anymore, but about immigration.
