Hungary would like to change the current geo-blocking legislation regarding sport broadcasts to make people able to watch local TV sport broadcasts and streaming services abroad, as well.

Szabolcs Takacs, State Secretary of EU Affairs, suggested Hungary's proposal to Gunter Oettinger, EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, during their meeting Thursday. As Mr Takacs said, the current legislation “undermines” the European Single Market because local televisions concrete on the given country's sportsmen, so during a visit abroad, foreigners can't grab enough information about their sporting talents due to geo-blocking. That's why Hungary suggests to change geo-blocking legislation.
