Several Hungarian dignitaries and organizations attended official events throughout the country remembering the Roma Holocaust.
“It's the shared tragedy of Hungary and Europe. We will not forget the victims, nor our duties. The Government of Hungary condemns any act of violence and hatred that makes any nation or ethnic group collectively responsible based on racial discrimination”, said Minister Zoltan Balog in his official statement.
“We must remember and remind others of this, so as to avoid a repetition of past horrors. We here in Europe fight to avoid that the external challenges of migration overshadow the issues of the poor and those falling behind in Europe” he added.
