Emil Neszmelyi became the first Hungarian climber to reach top of the Mount Everest along the hardest, southern road from Tibet.
Neszmelyi – a 44-years-old lawyer from Budapest – started his expedition on the 5th of April, and on the 21st of April he reached his basic camp in Katmandu.
Neszmélyi has becomee the fourth Hungarian, after Zsolt Eross, Attila Jelinko and Anita Ugyan to reach the peak of Mount Everest and the first to do so on the Nepal route. Zoltán Demján, a Slovakian with Hungarian origin, climbed the mountain in 1984.
