State secretary Karoly Kontrat announced that the government is planning further security measure around the EU external border.
The Hungarian Interior Ministry submits an amendment bill to the parliament to ensure that not a single migrant can illegally stay in Hungary, state secretary Karoly Kontrat told a press conference. According to the bill anyone stopped by police within 8km of the state border will placed in a transit zone unless they have committed a crime. Then they can submit a request for asylum and expect a fast procedure. These migrants – according to Kontrat 99% of them are caught within 8km of the border - will not be deported for staying illegally in Hungary.
