State Secretary Istvan Mikola talked about the importance of Europe's Christian identity.
The legacy of Saint Ladislaus I of Hungary can lead us back to the European identity which is based on Christianity, State Secretary for Security Policy and International Cooperation Istvan Mikola told public television M1. ”This is the legacy that helps the European cooperation and alliance”, he added. The ”survival potential” of Europe lies in the ”national diversity”, which should be preserved, Mr Mikola emphasised. He also said that following a civil initiative the government will be advised to declare 2017 the year of Saint Ladislaus.
