Politicians are not ignoring the asylum seekers in need, but must focus on the protection of their countries, according to group leader of the Hungarian Christian Democrats.
”The pastor and the politician focuses on different things – one on the suffering people, the other is protecting its country. Both standpoints are valid and legitimate”, parliamentary group leader of the smaller Hungarian government party, Christian Democratic KDNP said. Peter Harrach, speaking to Gondola.hu about Pope Francis's remarks on migration, added that the pope speaks about the asylum seekers in need, while ”we mostly speak about the flood of migrants threatening our homes”. The politician emphasized that these are the two dangers of the same challenge and neither of them can be legitimate if the other is ignored.
