The Hungarian works on turning the country is a hub for automotive industry innovation in Central Eastern Europe. According to PM Orban Hungary can be a winner with digitization.
At the conference “Cars of the Future” at Budapest Technical University, PM Viktor Orban said Hungary has been working on its Central European automotive industry innovation center status that since 2010. He said he would like to see Hungary showing the fastest rate of growth in research, development and innovation activities, as well as in the production of cars.
Mr Orban announced that Hungary will build an automotive industry test track in Zalaegerszeg, for which the nearest rival will be 500 kilometers away. The track will be used for testing driverless cars in controlled conditions, among other things.
He suggested that Hungary, along with the Central European region, can become a winner with industrial digitization, so cooperation between the countries of the region is highly urged.
