New documentary on Vilmos Zsigmond premiered in Cannes

Director Pierre Filmon screened his new documentary about Vilmos Zsigmond in Cannes. The world famous Hungarian cinematographer participated in shooting such films as The Deer Hunter, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Deliverance.

One of the most famous Hungarians in the world, the great cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond died earlier this year at the age at 85. The Oscar-winner’s life was put on the screen by the French director Pierre Filmon, the documentary premiered in Cannes Saturday.

The film was made in the last two years in Zsigmond Vilmos’s life, however, it follows viewers through his whole career. Lots of colleagues and cast members in different movies, including John Boorman, Peter Fonda, Jerry Schatzberg, Darius Khondji, Haskell Wexler, Bruno Delbonnel and Vittorio Storaro, hare memories of Vilmos Zsigmond work.
