According to Government Spokesperson Zoltan Kovacs, Brussels must be interested in what the Hungarian people have to say.

Hungary will send a clear message with the outcomes of the referendum on 2 October, he said, adding that “if the people’s opinions, will and feelings regarding how things go in the European Union are disregarded, it may have consequences such as that a Member State decides to leave the EU”.

Mr Kovacs believes that Hungary’s decision on mandatory quota system will be unavoidable and unquestionable for Brussels, and it will have to take into consideration how it should change the failed policy of migration.
