Currently, one and a half million of hectares is ragweed-contaminated in Hungary, while a legal procedures have begun for 1500 hectares, the fine could be up to HUF 4 mln, said officials.
Police helicopters are helping Ministry of Agriculture's and Ministry of the Interior's work against ragweed. Citizens who haven't exterminated ragweed on their fields may expect a fine between 15000 up to HIF 5 mln.
Fortunately, contaminated area is smaller year by year.
