January saw a 6.4 percent year-on-year wage increase, reports Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH).
Such increase means a three year continuous rise and the best January growth figure in eleven years. In the meantime, the number of employed people, working at enterprises with over five employees, was 70,000 higher than in the previous year.
In January 2016, gross and net wages, excluding family tax allowances, averaged HUF 249 400 and HUF 165 800, respectively. Including family tax allowance, average net wages are estimated at HUF 173 000. Gross wages averaged HUF 264 500 at business enterprises, HUF 261 800 at state institutions and HUF 236 800 at non-profit organizations in the month of January.
