Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto praised the good condition of the Visegrad Four and rejected any further centralisation of competences in the EU.

”The Visegrad Four is the closest and most effective alliance today in the European Union”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto told the Hungarian public radio on Sunday morning. According to Mr Szijjarto, the V4-cooperation brought historic peace to the region. ”The Visegrad Four is in its best ever condition”, he said, adding that the cooperation of the Central European states is very much needed, as Europe is facing many challenges.

According to Mr Szijjarto the V4 countries think that strong European integration can only be built on strong member states. ”Giving more competences to Brussels is out of question, all the good solutions recently have been made on the level of the member states”, he added.
