Hungary's trade surplus rose to a record high of €8.1 billion last year, €1.8 billion higher than a year ago, the Central Statisctial Office announced.
In the last month of the year, the trade surplus grew €398 million on annual terms to reach €643 million as exports increased 7.3% to €6.8 billion and imports by 1% to €6.2 billion. For the full-year, the value of exports was €90.7 billion, while the value of imports equaled €82.6 billion leading to a €8.1 billion surplus, which is higher than what analysts had expected.
