Colleen Bell denies claims that she is leaving Budapest.
Hungarian daily newspaper Magyar Nemzet claimed on Tuesday that the United States' Ambassador to Hungary, Colleen Bell is going to discontinue her duty and leave Budapest before her planned mission runs out. The former Hollywood producer arrived on the 21st of January 2015 so she is in charge until the spring of 2017. According to the daily's information – based on anonymous sources – the diplomat is ”tired of the hopeless work to smooth the relations between Hungary and the US”.
”I will not go anywhere within a reasonable time”, Colleen Bell reacted on Tuesday. According to the ambassador the newspaper didn't ask the embassy about its information. She added that she is happy to serve her country as the United States' Ambassador to Hungary.
