The governing party's spokesman blamed the socialist governments for their destructive tax policies.
Instead of lowering the taxes, the Left would overtax the enterprises and the employers again, thus ruining their competitiveness and taking away the possibility of raising wages, according to the spokesman of the governing Fidesz party, János Halász. He told a press conference on Tuesday that with its high taxes the leftist governments stopped the Hungarian companies from developing. Most people were in a desperate situation as socialist governments doubled the unemployment, many investments stopped and even the employers became poorer, Mr Halász added.
