Viktor Orban attends the EPP congress in Malta. Before the event he met with the president of PACE and the opposition in Albania.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban held talks with Pedro Agramunt, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe before the congress of the European People's Party (EPP) in Malta. According to the PM's press chief, Bertalan Havasi, during the talks Mr. Orban made it clear that strengthening border protection legislation serves the interests of Hungarian and European citizens’ safety; certain non-governmental organizations with foreign backgrounds are exploiting their positions both financially and politically, which can lead to a variety of legal disputes. The Government of Hungary, however, is committed to defending the borders of Hungary and Europe.
The Hungarian Prime Minister also met the president of Fidesz's sister party, the Democratic Party of Albania. Lulzim Basha and Viktor Orban identified Balkan stability as one of the most important issues for Europe’s future, and Hungary is seeking to enhance this with all available means.
