The Hungarian PM's adviser warns of new migration routes and emphasises external border control.
The EU-Turkey deal alone won't solve the migration crisis in Europe as migration from Libya to Italy has been increasing, György Bakondi, chief national security adviser to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned on Monday. According to Bakondi the rule of law should be reestablished in Europe. He reminded that Hungary's approach to migration was not accepted in the EU for a while but a few months later the influence of the Hungarian advice was seen. The strict protection of external borders is the main point of the Schengen treaty, and the sovereignty of member states shouldn't be harmed by a central migration policy, he emphasised. Bakondi also said that a member state can try to solve its demographic problem with immigration, but this can't be centrally prescribed by Brussels.
