Szijjarto: Hungary attractive for US companies

The country has the lowest corporate tax rate in Europe

Foreign Minister held talks with US business leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly's session in New York.

Hungary is among the most attractive investment destinations for US companies, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto told Hungarian news agency MTI after talks with US business leaders and business council representatives in New York on Wednesday. Szijjarto held talks the leaders of IBM, General Electric and BorgWarner among other companies, as well as representatives of the US Hungary Business Council (USHBC) and the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU).

The minister stressed that Hungary has the lowest corporate tax rate in Europe and said American companies cite the Hungarian government's investment-friendly policies among their main reasons for investing in Hungary.
