The American ambassador praised the US-Hungarian relations but made a remark about corruption.
High level contact with the Hungarian government is continuous, the military, law enforcement and trade cooperation of the United States and Hungary is very strong, American ambassador Colleen Bell told ATV on Saturday. Reacting to the question about the lack of bilateral meetings between Viktor Orbán and Barack Obama, she said that the two leaders meet very often at various occasions and many high level US government officials visit Hungary. Mrs. Bell also emphasised that Hungary and the United States are both parts of the coalition against ISIS and there are 230 American companies in Hungary who give job to almost a 100.000 people. Bilateral trade relations can strengthen further if the TTIP negotiations will be successful, she added. The ambassador also mentioned that more efforts should be made to fight corruption.
