The government spokesperson says CEU decided to start a political hysteria campaign, even though the new rules are not discriminatory.
There are no unachievable requirements in the new higher education rules, the government spokesperson told the public radio. Zoltán Kovács reminded that 27 of 28 foreign institutions operated irregularly. The new rules don't harm the freedom of education or the autonomy of the universities, he emphasised.
According to Mr. Kovács it was George Soros's university who decided to create a political hysteria. He added that this political circus has nothing to do with reality and it's not a matter of freedom, as the existence of a private university has nothing to do with the country's freedom.
