The Hungarian Holocaust drama, Son of Saul made the Oscars shortlist of nine films selected by the Academy. Chances are that it will a nominee for the Best Foreign Language Film, as well.
Experts say that it’s no surprise to see Son of Saul on the list as the intense drama from Laszlo Nemes has already won the Grand Jury Prize in Cannes. Plus, it's also been nominated for the Golden Globe.
Only two Hungarian films won Oscars back in the 80s. Now moviegoers can hope for another award with Nemes' micro-narrative masterpiece.
