Eleven localities have red alert, twelve have orange alert due to the concentrations of particulate matter in the air.
The air quality improved a bit in some places, but it's still declared dangerous and unhealthy because of the concentrations of particulate matter (PM10) according to the National Centre for Public Health (OKK). The latest analysis shows that 11 localities - Budapest, Tököl, Vác, Szolnok, Eger, Salgótarján, Miskolc, Sajószentpéter, Kazincbarcika, Putnok, Hernádszurdok - have red alert, which means that they are still considered to be dangerous. Orange level in 12 localities - Szeged, Debrecen, Oszlár, Dunaújváros, Százhalombatta, Dorog, Esztergom, Tatabánya, Gyõr, Sopron, Szombathely, Szentgotthárd - indicates that the air is unhealthy there.
Motoric traffic is still under limitation in Budapest, mayor Istvan Tarlos recommends the population to use public transport.
