The Hungarian short film, Sing, was nominated to Oscars Tuesday.

Jennifer Hudson, Brie Larson, Emmanuel Lubezki, Jason Reitman, Ken Watanabe and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs announced the nominations for the 89th Academy Awards in Los Angeles. A Hungarian short movie will be an Oscar contender in February as Sing directed by Kristof Deak was selected into the Live-action short category along with Ennemis interieurs, La femme et le TGV, Silent Nights and Timecode.

Concert by Istvan Szabo in 1963 was the first Hungarian short film that was selected into this category. Since then no Hungarian director could do the same.
