Pupils are learning about gender equality and human rights at this year's World's Largest Lesson.
Women and men should have the same opportunities, the Secretary of State for Family and Youth Affairs Katalin Novák emphasised at the World's Largest Lesson event, which is part of a worldwide UN initiative. The main topic of this year's lesson is gender equality. Speaking in the Fazekas Mihály high school Mrs Novák said that differences between men and women don't mean that they don't have the same rights. She added that in many parts of the world women still earn less than men.
Katalin Tausz, UNICEF director for children's rights added that regarding gender equality the situation in Hungary is much better than in many other parts of the world.
