"This terrible attack confirms our conviction that the most important task of the period ahead will be to restore the security of Europe and the European people", the Hungarian prime minister stressed after the terrorist attack in Barcelona.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent a telegram of condolence to Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in connection with the Barcelona attack, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief informed Kormany.hu." I was deeply shocked to learn about the terrorist attack committed in the City of Barcelona today. Please allow me to offer my condolences on behalf of the Hungarian people to the relatives of the victims, and to wish the injured a swift recovery", the prime minister wrote.
Orbán pointed out that "this terrible attack confirms our conviction that the most important task of the period ahead will be to restore the security of Europe and the European people".

Hungarian President János Áder, the president of the parliament László Kövér and Hungarian political parties also offered their condolences in statements or in telegrams to their counterparts.
