A referendum on mandatory quota system is highly important in relation to the new migration law proposal of the European Commission, said Janos Lazar, Minister in charge of the Prime Minister’s Office at his weekly presser Thursday.
He commented the new proposal as it was Brussels' “new idea” on mandatory quota system.
As for the Hungarian referendum, Janos Lazar stated that the Hungarian government needed to know people's thoughts on mandatory quota system, as without official opinions it couldn't decide. “The referendum is one of, or even the most important referendum in the Hungarian history since 1990”, he said, adding that Hungarian couldn't be divested from the law to decide who they would like to live with.
