More and more national parliaments want to have more right to influence EU decision making.
”National parliaments should play a bigger role in EU decision making as only through them we can call the EU institutions to account”, the President of the Hungarian parliament, Laszlo Kover said after meeting his European counterparts in Bratislava. He recalled that there have been several propositions to strengthen the controlling capacity of the national parliaments. Regarding the European Union he said it's worth analysing whether EU institutions are respecting their own binding rules. According to Mr Kover people are losing trust in Eu institutions, because unlike national parliaments, they can't be held accountable.
