Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Hunor Kelemen had talks about the tasks related to the congress of the European People’s Party to be held in Helsinki in November, Kormany.hu reports.

The Prime Minister said that at the meeting the President of Fidesz and the President of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (RMDSZ) agreed that a strong European People’s Party is required, and they are able to fight jointly for Hungarian interests in the most effective possible manner if after the May EP elections a strong People’s Party group is formed within the European Parliament.

Orban and Kelemen pointed out that, in the present situation, they will both support Manfred Weber’s nomination to the post of President of the European Commission.
