Third largest exporter in Hungary, American GE is interested in getting involved in the Paks expansion.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban discussed on Wednesday the development of worker training and the expansion of the Paks nuclear power station with the vice chairman of General Electric (GE), John G Rice. Parties at the talks agreed to start regional cooperation in higher education and industry in order to ensure quality training for Hungarian employees.
Regarding the planned upgrade to the nuclear plant in Paks, Rice emphasised that GE is interested and motivated to get involved. The parties expressed hope that American-Russian professional cooperation would be developed in the project.
GE is the third largest exporter in Hungary and employs 11,000 people, continually developing its capacities.
