Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto warned that ruining the relationship with Turkey will endanger Europe's security.
The safety of the EU today begins with the stability of Turkey, so it has to avoid irrational step which can endanger it, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said after the General Affairs Council in Brussels. He emphasised that the EU must maintain a dialogue and a close cooperation with Turkey and avoid cutting ties to the country. Mr Szijjarto reminded that Turkey is also a member of the NATO and Europe's important ally in the fight against terrorism. We should show respect and appreciation towards Turkey and the Turkish people, avoid any emotional decisions with cause a security threat to Europe.
