Some 2,500 people living with disabilities are being moved from large institutions to small-scale housing in the second phase of a project to improve their living conditions, Hungarian news agency MTI reports
Karoly Czibere, the state secretary in charge of social affairs and cohesion said on Wednesday that the allocation for the current phase is 22 billion forints (EUR 70m).
In the first phase during 2015-2016, some 600 disabled people had the opportunity to move to new accommodation offering better living conditions, at a cost of 6 billion forints, he said. The third phase currently under preparation will affect 7,500 people, and by 2023, large institutions will be phased out, MTI quotes the state secretary.
