Another Hungarian police contingent departed for Macedonia Thursday to support border control at the Macedonian-Greek border.

The contingent of 24 men and one woman was greeted by Commander of the Operational Police Janos Balogh before departure. He noted that it was the fifth contingent that Hungary sent to help Macedonia’s border protection efforts. However, until now, the deployment of the contingents followed individual requests, but a few days ago Hungary decided to send Hungarian police units to Macedonia in monthly shifts up until 31 December.

They will continuously work to support border protection efforts at the Macedonian-Greek border and to take action against illegal migration.
