Sustainable development is in the focus of the regional meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Budapest.
”Parliaments, governments and politicians have a common, however uneven, responsibility towards maintaining order in nature and society”, the president of the Hungarian parliament, Laszlo Kover said at the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Budapest. He said that Hungary has a national sustainable development strategy which was adopted several years ago, adding however that the country still had a lot of tasks to perform in this area.
IPU President Saber Chowdhury stressed that regional cooperation is essential in the implementation of national sustainable strategies in which field not only national governments, but national parliaments also play an important role.
