Experts previously believed that migration pressure would ease as winter came with snow and cold. They seem to be mistaken as 500-3000 migrants arrive into the EU daily.
According to the Chief Security Advisory to the Prime Minister Gyorgy Bakondi such numbers mean “once winter is over, a movement of so far unprecedented magnitude might start”. He also added that the EU's current migration management strategy doesn't work, the possible solutions “haven't yielded results”. “A firmer solution is needed”, he said referring to a stronger protection of the EU borders.
