The Hungarian inflation rate fell by -0.2 percent year-on-year in March 2016, announced Central Statistical Office (KSH) Friday.
Comments say that the favorable results could be mainly thanked to low oil prices and disinflationary effect from Europe, but reduction of VAT on pork also participated in the results.
The results drop significantly in comparison to the February figure of 0.3 percent, due to the favourable price changes of food and fuels. The major factors in lower food prices were the lower VAT on pork and the global oversupply of meat and dairy products.
