The Hungarian FM didn't attend the crisis meeting of the EU ministers, because according to the government Donald Trump's presidential election is good news.
"Hungary refuses to participate in the hysteria which has swept through the European elite", Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said regarding the informal meeting of his EU counterparts on Sunday, which he didn't attend. Speaking on the sidelines of their official meeting on Monday, he said that the Hungarian government regards the election of Donald Trump to the US presidency as "good news". Mr Szijjarto explained that the view of the American people must be respected, even if their decision does not happen to coincide with the European political and media elite. "This liberal-democratic view is strange, that as long as people decide as the elite wishes, democracy is in good working order, but when the decision rides against their will, they convene a crisis meeting" he added.
Donald Trump's election is "expressly good news for the world" because of his views on democracy export which has already caused a lot of trouble around the world.
